Home Service Team

Eleven specialists that run the side of your business you're doing at 9pm.

You are the estimator, the dispatcher, the collections department and the marketing team, and all of it happens after dinner. This is eleven named specialists that do the paperwork side of a home service business — the estimate that wins the job, the rate calculation that tells you whether you are actually making money, the follow-up nobody sends, the job sheet that stops the phone ringing from site. You talk to one of them. He routes the rest.

What you can produce with it

  • A branded three-option estimate PDF in five minutes instead of forty
  • Your real break-even rate, computed from your overhead rather than the shop down the road
  • A crew job sheet with the "do not do this for free" list on it
  • Follow-up sequences for quotes nobody chased and customers from two years ago
  • Review replies that read like a professional, capped at sixty words
  • Job ads that get applicants before the season rather than during it

What is inside

12 The team

  1. 01

    Sam — front desk

The only one you talk to. You describe the job in your own words and Sam routes it to whoever handles that, then names the handoff so you know who did the work. There are no commands to learn.

  2. 02

    Ray — estimates and proposals

Turns "coil's leaking on a 14-year-old system" into a three-page branded PDF with your licence number, insurance, three priced options, scope, exclusions, warranty and a signature line. Recommends the middle option, never the dearest.

  3. 03

Hank — pricing and job costing

Computes break-even and target hourly rate from your own overhead, wages, labour burden and billable efficiency. Shows what happens to that rate as efficiency moves, and the markup-versus-margin table most owners have backwards.

  4. 04

Gus — missed calls and intake

The sixty-second missed-call text-back that arrives before the customer dials the next number, plus an intake script that takes the phone number first.

  5. 05

Cole — unbooked quotes and dormant customers

Four follow-up sequences with fixed endings. The last message says it is the last one, which is the one that pulls replies from people who ignored the rest.

  6. 06

    Nina — reviews

Reply patterns for five review types, capped at sixty words, plus the timing that actually earns reviews — asked on site while the work is visibly done.

  7. 07

    Mae — maintenance plans

Plan tiers, pricing, renewal and retention sequences. The recurring revenue that fills the quiet season and gives you first call on breakdowns.

  8. 08

    Tess — crew job sheets

A one-page sheet per job with access notes, what to bring, scope, and a black-on-red "NOT included — do not do this for free" block.

  9. 09

    Dot — invoices and money

Invoices, confirmations, deposit requests and arrears chasing that stays polite for 35 days and then stops, because lien and collection wording is jurisdiction-specific.

  10. 10

    Wes — local marketing

Seasonal calendar, posts and service-area pages, so you stop being invisible in your own postcode.

  11. 11

    Val — hiring

Job ads that get applicants, screening questions that filter, and a first-week onboarding plan.

  12. 12

    Three working tools

make_estimate.py, make_jobsheet.py and rate_calc.py. Real scripts that produce real PDFs and a real rate analysis — not prompts that describe one.

Home Service Team is eleven Claude Skills and three working Python tools for contractors who are running the office themselves.

The premise is narrow on purpose. It does not schedule, dispatch, invoice or integrate. It writes the documents and the messages that a home service business runs on, to a standard that usually requires an office manager — and it does the one piece of arithmetic that decides whether the business makes money.

Three of the eleven produce real files rather than text: make_estimate.py builds a three-page branded estimate PDF, make_jobsheet.py builds a one-page crew sheet, and rate_calc.py returns break-even and target hourly rate with a sensitivity table across billable efficiency.

Buy this if

  • You are a solo operator or run a two-to-eight person shop
  • You write quotes at the kitchen table after the kids are in bed
  • You suspect your prices are wrong but have never sat down and worked it out
  • Your estimates go out as a text message with a number in it
  • You have quotes from three weeks ago that nobody has chased

Do not buy this if

  • You already run ServiceTitan with a full office team and your estimates go out in ten minutes
  • You want software that connects to your CRM — this connects to nothing
  • You want someone to answer your phone
  • You want it to find you customers

What is not included

Listed here rather than discovered after payment. Sales are final, so the scope has to be unambiguous before you buy.

  • No integrations. It does not connect to ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro, QuickBooks or your calendar. You tell it what you know; it writes the document.
  • It will not answer your phone or book your jobs. It writes the text-back and the intake script — you or your answering service still run them.
  • It will not find you customers. It makes the ones who contact you more likely to book, and the ones you have served more likely to come back.
  • It will not invent a price, a licence number, an insurance limit or a warranty term. It asks you, because those numbers go on a document your customer signs.
  • Not legal, tax or accounting advice. Liens, collections, terminations and disputes go to your attorney. The arrears sequence deliberately stops before that line.
  • Nobody on the team is a licensed tradesperson, accountant or lawyer. They are drafting and admin specialists, and each one says so if you ask.
  • PDFs need code execution switched on in your Claude settings. Without it you get clean text, not documents.

Questions

I'm not technical. Is this going to be a problem?

If you can send a text message, you can use it. You type what is going on the way you would tell an office manager — "quote for the Whitfield job, coil's leaking, 14-year-old system" — and you get the document back. There is no software to learn, nothing to configure, and no integrations to set up. The one piece of setup is a form you fill in once with your business details.

What do I actually need to run it?

A Claude account with code execution enabled — Settings, Capabilities. A free account works. Setup is about ten minutes, once, and most of that is filling in your brand profile with your licence number, insurance, warranty terms and standard rates.

Will it write something wrong and get me in trouble?

It will not invent a price, a licence number, an insurance limit or a warranty term — it asks you for those, every time, because they end up on a document your customer signs. Everything else is a draft you read before it goes out, exactly like anything an office manager would type for you. That is the deal, and it is stated on every skill.

I already use ServiceTitan or Jobber. Does this replace it?

No, and you should keep it. That is your scheduling, dispatch and invoicing system. This writes the things it does not — the estimate wording, the three-option structure, the review replies, the follow-up sequences, the job ads. Paste the output wherever you need it.

My customers want a person, not AI.

They get a person. You. This writes the paperwork; you send it, you show up, you do the work. What your customer sees is an estimate that looks like it came from a real business, not a chatbot.

My prices are probably fine.

They might well be. The rate calculator takes about ten minutes with your P&L to hand and tells you for certain. Most owners are surprised in one direction or the other — and the efficiency table tends to be the part that lands, because most people guess their billable efficiency at 80% when it is usually 55 to 65% once drive time, callbacks and restocking are counted.

Can my office person use it too?

Yes. The licence covers one business with unlimited people and devices. Install it on as many machines as you like within your own company.

Is my customer data safe?

You run it inside your own Claude account under Anthropic's terms — we never see anything you type. The same caution applies as with any tool — do not paste card numbers or identity documents.

Does the trade language actually sound right?

It was built from research, not from running a plumbing company, and a working contractor may spot vocabulary that is slightly off for their trade or region. If you do, send it to us — that is the single most useful message we can get, and it improves the product for everyone.
